Building on a successful Thursday, Emily Morris made it a winning start to Friday with her own Bean Cruising, bettering their third place in yesterday’s first round of the Equerry Horse Feed 1.00 Open. All attentions for them now turn to Saturday’s Championship. She claimed the class with an impressive four second lead over her nearest competitors, Arthur Hobby and Farah Jones, who in turn were five seconds clear of their closest rivals in this 80-strong section.
After two days of Young Horse qualifying rounds, we see 50 progressing into the Northcote Stud 5YO Championship and 66 coming forward into the Ashdale Sports Horses 4YO Championship, both to be held on Saturday.
Following last week’s announcement from British Showjumping that Bolesworth will be the new venue for the Official NAF Five Star British Showjumping National Championships, we are delighted to announce that entries will be open this evening (Wednesday 15th Juy).
Following Grandstand Media Limited’s recent cancellation announcement of Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) on the 2nd July a second announcement shortly followed that the Stoneleigh Horse Show, which hosts the HOYS showing qualifiers and runs alongside the British Showjumping National Championships (BSNC), would also therefore be cancelled.
There is an air of excitement in the equestrian world as the sport begins to resume under the new government and British Showjumping guidelines. Plans for the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships (19th to 23rd August), and the Bolesworth Elite Foal Auction (21st August) are taking shape, with the necessary precautions being put in place to enable the event to run in line with social distancing guidelines.
Following the huge success of the inaugural event, the new partnership will centre on Al Shira’aa being the title sponsor for the 2020 British Young Horse Championships at Bolesworth.
The Equitop Bolesworth Young Horse Championship served as a celebration of the very best of British breeding and top equestrian sport. The inaugural show hosted in the stunning grounds of Bolesworth Castle combined a young horse championship with WBFSH qualifiers for the finals at Lanaken, an AES Elite Foal Auction plus the opportunity to win a prize of a lifetime with every golden ticket.

YOUNG horse producer, Joe Trunkfield and Emma Sweeney’s scopey Kade Hof Ten Zoetendaele Z showed true class when capturing the Shaw Farm Stud sponsored Five-year-old Championship.
TWENTY-one-year-old Georgia Tame and the huge striding Jeff Ten Halven overcame Tom Holden’s technical course to win the John Oates Horseboxes Under 25’s Championships.
New National Champion, Harriet Nuttall and Silver Lift survived a rub at the last to win the Equestrizone CSI2* final at a sun-baked Equitop Bolesworth Young Horse Championships.
