Al Shira’aa has an incredible network of stables, horses, riders and trainers all over the world, but did you know they also have five stallions at stud with exceptional breeding, and three of these are due to jump at the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships this year?

Chacco Bay

Chacco Bay is a stunning bay stallion with the ability, technique and attitude that makes him truly special. In 2019, Chacco Bay was silver medallist in the 5yo World Breeding Championship at Lanaken. He also won the title of Al Shira’aa Young Horse 6yo Champion in the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships in 2020.

Chacco Bay has had a busy stud season and Al Shira’aa has really focused on supporting British breeders with this fabulous stallion. He will be jumping at the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships in the 1.35m class, in preparation for a strong UAE season in ranking classes.

Breeding wise, Chacco Bay’s sire is Chaccato who passed stallion performance tests in 2013 with a jumping ability of 9.5. Chaccato’s sire, Chacco Blue, is a prolific sire to many showjumpers and has been the number 1 jumping sire numerous times. Chacco Blue is also sire to three horses appearing in the Bolesworth Elite Foal Auction.

Chacco Bay’s damline is also strong with numerous world class horses including Jackie Brown 4, Diagonal 4, and Locadaur.

SS Pegasus

Black stallion SS Pegasus will also be jumping at the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships and is one of Al Shira’aa’s founder, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s, first homebreds.

By Balou du Rouet Z and out of Totila, one of Al Shira’aa Farms’ incredible mares who clocked up wins at the CSI4* World Cup Two Rounds in Doha Qatar in 2012, CSI3* W Sharjah in 2011, CSI4* W Doha in 2014 and was also 4th in the Pan Arab Games in 2011. In addition, she placed 17 times at 1.60m

SS Pegasus has also achieved some great accolades for such a young horse. He won the Best British Bred 4yo at the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships in 2020, which was the same year he came 4th in the 4yo final class at the same event. So far, he’s had a great 2022 season, jumping clear in the 6yo classes he’s entered. He’s definitely one to watch at this year’s show and beyond.

Kratos FH

Competing in the 7yo class at the Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships this year, Kratos FH is a stunning black warmblood stallion whose sire is Stakkato.

Kratos FH’s sire and damline are both incredibly strong. This horse is definitely one to go and see in action at Bolesworth this week.


Although Ajado lives in England now, he was actually found in Australia and was Al Shira’aa Farms’ first big purchase. In fact, he started the whole story and breeding programme.

This grey stallion by Askari, out of Grandiosa II is now 18 but has clocked up some high profile achievements in his competition career including coming third with Mohamed Al Owais in the 1.30m two phase CSI2* in Al Ain, and also taking fourth with the same rider in the 1.35m two phase CSI2* in Al Ain.

Tsunami De Hus

Last but not least, Tsunami De Hus is an athletic stocky type standing at 165cm. Although he’s not very big, he has a huge character and adds this to his offspring. He’s by L’Arc De Triomphe out of Argentinus, who is a full sister to Arko III.

In 2020, he won the CSI2* Grand Prix Sharjah Rules Cup at 1.50m, and has also clocked up second in the CSI2* at Sharjah in 2020 in the 1.45m and 1.40m classes. In 2018 he won the CSI2* Kronenburg Table A 1.40m and has also won at CSI2* Warrggem in 2018 (1.40m), CSI3* Sharjah in 2018 (1.40m) and the CSI3* World Cup Qualified Al Ain Grand Prix in 2019 (1.55m). He’s truly a very impressive horse. He’s also competed at Bolesworth.

Tsunami’s progeny are currently jumping ranking classes such as the likes of Expresso Minotiere a young horse being produced by Antonio Mariñas Soto.
