Dodson & Horrell is one of our trusted sponsors here at Bolesworth, and we love welcoming them to the Castle grounds for our equestrian events. But did you know that a number of the company’s brand ambassadors also compete here at Bolesworth? And further afield too?

In addition to supporting riders across dressage, eventing and racing, Dodson & Horrell has a number of showjumpers as brand ambassadors for the company. Did you know that these riders feed Dodson & Horrell:

Geoff Billington – Geoff doesn’t need any introduction to Bolesworth visitors as he’s a friend of the show. At the 2022 Dodson & Horrell Bolesworth International Horse Show, he also took the opportunity to take the Dodson & Horrell Garden Wall Selfie to the next level by bringing one of his horses up in the middle of the show!

What you might not know about Geoff is that he began riding at the age of nine and his first pony cost him just £10. He later sold it for £325, and that’s where the story started! Since this time, Geoff has been a valued member of the Nations Cup teams appearing almost 50 times, won the Hickstead Derby in 2007, and went on to win over £650,000 in winnings with the much loved It’s Otto.

Jack Whitaker – Another Bolesworth regular, Jack comes from a dynasty of showjumpers. He started riding at just four and, so far, has clocked up two gold medals at the Pony FEI European Championships, and won Team Silver at the Youth Olympic Games on his 17th birthday in 2018.

Joe Davison- the Davison surname is synonymous with equestrian excellence (Joe’s father is Olympic dressage rider Richard), and Joe’s career to date certainly follows this trend. He regularly competes in CSI and Grand Prix classes, has been a member of the GB U21 jumping team, came 5th in the FEI 5* Kings Cup at Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2016 and much more besides.

Joe Whitaker – Joe has enjoyed an incredible career to date representing GB in both youth and senior teams, being part of the winning 5* Nations Cup Team, winning the Hickstead Derby in 2018 and winning a European Team Bronze Medal.

Ellen Whitaker – Ellen has clocked up a huge number of notable results including winning the Hickstead Speed Derby in 2007, placing 3rd in the Rome Grand Prix CSIO5*, being shortlisted for the Olympics with Locarno 62, and so much more.

Jess Dimmock – Jess’s passion for all things equestrian was nurtured by her grandmother and saw Jess representing GB on the Young Rider Nations Cup Teams. In addition, Jess became U23 British Champion at Olympia on 2012, was selected for the GB Team in Gothenburg, and more. She competes internationally and has received many top placings in the UK and abroad.

John Whitaker MBE- another rider who barely needs an introduction thanks to his incredible career, John’s partnership with Milton is the stuff of legend and led to many having huge posters of stunning grey horses plastered all over their bedroom walls! John has represented GB at six Olympic Games and has also ridden at World and European Championships. He has an impressive medal collection totalling 25, and 183 Nations Cups.

Michael Whitaker- Michael’s career started on his mum’s riding school ponies and has seen him go on to make 202 Nations Cup appearances, win many 5* competitions and win 17 Championship medals including a silver Olympic medal. He still competes and also supports is son, Jack.

Steven Whitaker – brother to Michael and John, and father to Ellen, Joe, Thomas and Donald, it’s fair to say that showjumping is very much in Steven’s blood. He’s represented GB on several occasions and paused his own career to support his children in establishing theirs. In addition to competing, Steven also coaches, and breeds and produces top quality horses.
